Everything You Want to Know
(But Didn't Want to Ask).
Twelve years of answering the exact same questions from men at every level of experience. No jargon, just the facts.
Before Your Appointment
Yes — briefly. The discomfort lasts less than a second per pull, and it diminishes significantly with regular waxing as the hair root weakens over time. Most first-timers are surprised it's less intense than they expected. The anticipation is always worse than the reality.
A minimum of two to three weeks of growth from the last shave. Ideally three to four weeks. We need enough hair to grip — approximately 5–8mm. If you're uncertain, don't trim before your appointment and let us assess on the day.
Yes. Gentle exfoliation 24 hours before your appointment helps lift dead skin cells and allows us to access the hair root more effectively. Do not exfoliate on the day — it sensitises the skin.
Some clients do. An ibuprofen 30–45 minutes before an intimate wax can reduce sensitivity. It's not required, but it's a legitimate option if you are nervous.
Yes. A warm shower beforehand opens the pores and makes hair removal easier. Avoid applying any moisturiser, oil, or spray to the area being waxed on the day of your appointment.
During the Treatment
All treatments are performed by male specialists. Our team is trained specifically in male waxing techniques — which differ significantly from female waxing due to skin thickness, hair density, and root structure.
Completely. Treatment rooms are individual. No shared spaces. No waiting room visible from outside. We manage appointments with staggered timing so clients do not cross paths.
That's normal. Around 60% of our clients are first-timers. Our team handles this professionally and without drama. You will not be judged. Tell us it's your first time and we'll talk you through the process before we start.
Intimate Waxing Specifically
It is the complete removal of hair from the intimate area. This includes the pubic triangle (or leaving a strip if preferred), the base of the penis, the scrotum (sack), and the gluteal cleft (crack). It is a highly standard procedure for us.
Less than most men expect. The crack area has more sensitive skin, but our therapists work quickly and efficiently. The vast majority of clients find it significantly less intense than the front.
Yes. We use fresh applicators per client — absolutely no double-dipping. Treatment rooms are cleaned and sanitised between every single appointment. We maintain medical-grade hygiene protocols across all studios.
After Your Treatment
For 24–48 hours after treatment:
- No gym (sweat causes irritation in open follicles)
- No sunbathing or sunbeds
- No hot baths, saunas, or steam rooms
- No tight clothing in the treated area
- No sexual activity (for intimate waxing) for 24 hours
Typically three to six weeks, depending on your natural hair growth cycle. Regular clients often find their results extend as the hair root weakens with repeated waxing.
It's possible, particularly with your first few waxes. Regular exfoliation (starting 48 hours post-wax) dramatically reduces the likelihood. We also offer the Penacial — a specialist facial treatment
