First Time? What to Expect | Wax for Men First Visit Guide

First Time?

We know booking your first wax can feel daunting. But 60% of our clients are first-timers just like you. Here is exactly what to expect, with zero filter.

Typical Appointment Time: 20-30 Mins

Before You Arrive

📏

Hair Length

Don't clipper it right down. We need about 1cm (grain of rice) to grip. If it's too long, we will trim it for you.

🚿

Hygiene

A quick shower before you come is great, but don't stress—we have wipes in every room for you to freshen up.

👖

Clothing

Wear loose joggers or shorts. Tight denim after a wax isn't fun. Let your skin breathe.

The Appointment: Step-by-Step

1. Consultation

You'll be in a private room with your male therapist. You'll discuss exactly what you want removed and what you want to keep natural. No surprises.

2. Privacy & Prep

The therapist will step out while you undress. You'll hop on the bed and cover up with a towel. We only uncover the specific area we are working on.

3. The Wax

We use premium hot wax. It's applied warm, sets on the hair (not the skin), and is removed quickly. Your therapist will stretch the skin to minimize discomfort.

4. The Result

Once done, we apply a soothing post-wax oil. You'll check the results in the mirror to make sure you're happy, then get dressed.

The First 24 Hours

Do This

  • Wear loose, clean cotton underwear
  • Keep the area cool and dry
  • Apply our recommended soothing gel
  • Enjoy the smooth feeling!

Avoid This

  • No gym, sauna, or steam rooms (sweat irritates pores)
  • No sunbeds or tanning
  • No hot baths (lukewarm showers only)
  • No touching/scratching with dirty hands

The Awkward Questions

Does it hurt?
It's not painless, but it's not torture. The anticipation is usually worse than the reality. The pain is instant and fades in seconds. Most guys say, "Is that it?" after the first strip.
What if I get aroused?
This is the #1 worry for guys. Honestly? It happens. It's a natural bodily reaction to touch and nerves. Our therapists are professionals; they will ignore it and carry on. It's nothing to be embarrassed about.
How long does it last?
You'll be smooth for about 2-3 weeks. The hair grows back softer and thinner than shaving stubble. Most clients book every 4-6 weeks to maintain it.
