First Time?

What to Expect at
Your First Wax.

60% of our clients are first-timers. Every one of them was nervous. Every one of them came back.

Here's exactly what happens, step by step — so you can walk in knowing what you're doing.

Before You Book

Treatment Choice

Start with a body area rather than intimate if you are unsure. Back & chest is the most common entry point — it gives you a feel for the process without additional vulnerability. Going straight to an intimate wax is absolutely fine; just tell us it's your first time.

Hair Length

We need 2–4 weeks of growth from your last shave. The wax needs approximately 5–8mm to grip effectively. If unsure, stop shaving 2–3 weeks before your appointment and let us assess on the day. Do not trim it yourself.

The Day Before

  • Exfoliate gently (do not do this on the day)
  • Shower normally
  • Avoid alcohol — it sensitises the skin
  • Get a good night's sleep

The Day Of

  • Shower beforehand (warm, not hot)
  • No moisturiser, oil, or deodorant on the area
  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing
  • Arrive exactly on time
The Environment

Arriving at the Studio

You'll arrive at a discreet, professional building. No high-street salon frontage. No shared waiting room with female clients getting their nails done. You'll be taken directly to your private treatment room.

At no point will you be made to feel uncomfortable for being there. This is what we do, every single day.

The Consultation & Treatment

Before We Start

  • Confirm the treatment you've booked
  • Ask about skin conditions or medications
  • Ask if you've waxed before to tailor our approach
  • Answer any questions you have

No awkward preamble. No lecturing. No judgement.

During Treatment

A quick, sharp sensation — less than a second per pull. Most first-timers describe it as "much less bad than I expected."

A standard back wax takes about 15 minutes. However, if you book with Robbie, his signature speed-waxing technique will have you done in under 5 minutes. An intimate wax takes 30–40 minutes.

Can I stop? Yes. Always. No question. This is your body.

Post-Wax Protocols

After the Treatment

Immediately After

The treated area will be pink. This is normal. It fades within a few hours for most clients, up to 48 hours for sensitive areas.

First 24–48 Hours

  • No gym or heavy sweat
  • No sunbathing or saunas
  • No hot baths (showers OK)
  • No tight clothing
  • Intimate: avoid sexual activity

From 48 Hours

Begin gentle exfoliation to prevent ingrown hairs. Once or twice a week is sufficient. Book your next appointment for 4 weeks' time to catch the next hair growth cycle.

The Anticipation Is Always Worse Than the Experience

We've handled tens of thousands of first visits. The one thing they almost all say walking out: "That was easier than I thought."
